Papers (Invited Participants Only)

We kindly ask you to submit two things in advance to the workshop:

1. A paper of approx. 6 pages (+/- 1 page).

The focus of the paper should be on those parts of your research relevant to the topic of the workshop "dynamic visualizations and learning". In case that you are not directly concerned with dynamic visualizations, please nevertheless attempt to relate your research to the topic of the workshop. That is, take a look at learning with dynamic visualizations from your theoretical, conceptual, methodological or instructional perspective.

Please submit your paper electronically by April 12, 2002, to r.ploetzner@iwm-kmrc.de

Here you will find a Word-document which contains a template for the paper. Please take advantage of this template by making use of the different paragraph formats and by overwriting the given text with text of your own.

After we received your papers, the organizing committee will informally review them and give you feedback by May, 17.

At the workshop, you are requested to give a talk of 20 minutes on the basis of your paper.

2. Because we wish to center the discussions at the workshop around the design of and learning with concrete visualizations, especially during the discussions in small groups, we also ask you to submit some materials which show visualizations you make use of in your research. This could be a (static) figure, a (static) screenshot, an interactive Applet, a link to a site on the WWW, or a runnable computer program.

We would especially be grateful if you could let us know whether you would be interested in demonstrating a concrete piece of software at the workshop such as a learning environment which includes dynamic visualizations.

Please submit your materials along with the paper electronically by April 12, 2002, to r.ploetzner@iwm-kmrc.de
